Witchlight Revealed

Witchlight is coming.

The second novel by J.S.Watts is due out from Vagabondage Press this spring. Further details will be added as the light of imminent publication grows ever brighter. Today, however, we are very excited to be able to reveal the front cover for Witchlight and here it is:

"Witchlight", a new paranormal novel from J.S.Watts, is being released by Vagabondage Press  in spring 2015 and spring is drawing ever closer.

Here There Be Monsters

Beasts and Bards - poems and tales of all things scaly, secretive, sly and savage. In Cambridge. On Saturday 21st February at 8pm. Oh my!

Poets and storytellers bring you tales of creatures mythical and monstrous as part of We Make Monsters, an exhibition of work by Baggelboy illustrated things and Abi Stevens Illustration.

The event is hosted by Crafty Cambridge and Changing Spaces. The venue is Changing Spaces, 9 Norfolk Street, Cambridge, CB1 2LD.

Slack Folk

What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than music and poetry?

J.S.Watts (yes, we know it says J.D. Watts on the poster, but it really means J.S.Watts, honest) will be providing the poetry at this month's Slack Folk event in Colchester, Essex. Other than the unexplained name change, the poster says it all. So, if you fancy some folk music and poetry next Saturday afternoon, why not pop along?

A February What's Up

In February J.S.Watts will be performing at the following FREE public events in Cambridge, Colchester and London:

Saturday 7th February, 2pm - Poetry at The Story So Far Launch in Acton Library, London.


Saturday 14th February, 2pm  - Poetry at the SlackFolk  folk music event at The Old Police Station, Colchester.


Saturday 21st February, 8pm - Poetry and Stories at Beast and Bards, part of the We Make Monsters exhibition at Changing Spaces, Cambridge.

Jane Bwye, author of Breath of Africa (which was impressively nominated for both The Guardian First Book Award and Not The Booker Prize 2013) and i lift up my eyes, has very generously allowed me to write a guest post for her regular blog, thus allowing me to fantasise about who might play characters from my novels A Darker Moon and Witchlight.

Diaries, Calendars and New Year Intentions

As I'm sure you've noticed, it's 2015 already and, at the time of writing this, we're fourteen days into the New Year.

In timely (well, almost timely) fashion the Christmas decorations are being put away in boxes and consideration is being given to the 2015 calendar of events and performances. J.S will be giving her first poetry reading of the New Year at Slack Folk in Colchester, Essex on Saturday 14th February. The event, which is a wonderful mixture of folk music and poetry, will start at 2pm and J.S. is expected to take the stage at about 2.55pm.

Further events will be added to the Events Page in due course. If you want to hear J.S.Watts reading her poetry and prose live, or attend one of her workshops, you should keep an eye open for future updates.
